FOOD PAINTERS THAT HELP WHITEN YOUR TEETH | NUTALK

Your smile tells a healthy lot about you. You should therefore feel free to smile anytime you want and not be prevented from doing so because your teeth have a yellowish/dark shirt-on.
FIRST PUNCH: Drinking coffee, wine, sodas, tea and smoking all cause colour changes to your teeth.
No worries you can partner your toothbrush and toothpaste (RECOMMENDED YOU BRUSH YOUR TEETH FOR AT LEAST 2 MINUTES) with foods that contain naturally occuring substances that aid in keeping your teeth white.
The effect of these foods is not instant but rather gradual. You should therefore avoid foods that darken your teeth when you call-upon the “food white-painters”.

APPLE
The juices in apples are proven to kill about 80% of bacteria in the mouth and generally encourage saliva production which keeps yellowish plaque from forming. Thus, an apple a day keeps the Dentist away.

PINEAPPLE
They contain an enzyme bromelain which according to research, acts as a natural stain remover. This enzyme is also able to break-up already developed plaque (a sticky film of bacteria the builds-up on your teeth and ultimately stains them).

STRAWBERRY
Rubbing some strawberries on your teeth or simply eating them frequently will help in whitening your teeth. They contain an enzyme called malic acid which stimulates saliva production and ultimately helping kill harmful oral bacteria. The enzyme also promotes the removal of existing plaques.

ONION
They contain sulfur compounds (thiosulfinates and thiosulfonates) which act as killing-agent for eliminating bacteria that can cause plaques and tooth decay.
These compounds are only present in raw onions as cooking destroys them.

YOGHURT
Their sweet nature causes increased saliva production which helps cleanse your teeth of settling bacteria. This calcium-rich diet is necessary to promote healthy enamel-growth also promotes whiter teeth.

RAW VEGETABLES
Eating raw vegetables will naturally cleanse your tooth as the will rub almost all parts of your teeth. Eat crunchy veges like carrots and others.

BROCOLLI
Broccoli contains iron which helps form an acid-resistant film or barrier that can protect the enamel of your teeth according to Boston.com.

SHITAKI MUSHROOMS
These mushrooms contain a natural bacteria-inhibitor called lentinan which prevents their (bacteria) growth in the mouth.

SEEDS AND NUTS
Making seeds and nuts a part of your daily meal list will provide you with a natural “scrubbing-washing-bay”. The rough nature of these foods helps scrub your teeth as you chew leading to the removal of plaque on your enamels.

WATER
Drinking water helps flash and destabilizing the settling of plaque on your teeth.

CONCLUSION
As said earlier, these foods don’t give an instant switch from your current teeth-colour to white-teeth but gradually helps you make that transition. Avoid coffee, tea, sodas and smoking, so you don’t put “speed-ramps” on your transition path.
