HEALTH BENEFITS OF EATING PAWPAW (PAPAYA) SEEDS | NUTALK

Christopher Columbus described papaya as the "fruit of the angels" because of its delicious taste and soft nature.
Papaya is a whole fruit with the skin (but only the skin of organically grown papaya should be eaten to avoid chemicals and pesticide residues), seeds and the flesh all edible.
The flesh itself contain the enzyme papain (This enzyme is especially concentrated in the fruit when it is unripe) which breaks down protein thereby contributing to digestion.

But, we are going to enumerate the benefits of eating of its seeds.

ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES
Research has found that papaya seeds are effective against bacteria species such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Staph infections.

Papaya seeds are evidentially proven to help in the elimination of Intestinal Parasites.
In a study done on Nigerian children with intestinal parasites and published in the "Journal of Medicinal Food, it was found that dried papaya seeds were a cheap, natural and readily available effective treatment, as 76.7% of the children were parasite-free after seven days of treatment with papaya seeds compared to only 16.7% of the children who received a placebo (tablet containing no medication but has medical effects due to purely psychological reasons).
There was no significant effect from the use of papaya seeds in the study.    Seeds can be chewed or ground-up and juice swallowed to eliminate parasites.

LIVER DE-TOXIFIER
In Chinese medicine, it is believed that a teaspoon of papaya seeds will help detoxify the liver. Papaya seeds are often recommended by natural doctors in the treatment of cirrhosis of the liver according to healthdiaries.com.
